ICAR AIEEA (PG) and AICE JRF/SRF (PhD) 2026 - Overview

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) at the postgraduate level and the All India Competitive Examination (AICE) for Junior Research Fellowship / Senior Research Fellowship (JRF/SRF) at the PhD level. These exams open the door to Master's and doctoral seats in agriculture and allied science courses across ICAR institutes and agricultural universities in India, along with ICAR scholarships.

The admit card for the 2026 exam was released on 01 July 2026. The exam itself was held on 04 July 2026 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The AIEEA (PG) paper was held in the morning shift and the AICE JRF/SRF (PhD) paper in the afternoon shift.

Exam Schedule

Eligibility (Age and Qualification)

Age (as on 31 August 2026):

• AIEEA (PG): minimum 19 years of age.
• AICE JRF/SRF (PhD): minimum 20 years of age.

Qualification:

• AIEEA (PG): a Bachelor's degree of 4, 5 or 5.5 years in the related agriculture or allied science subject, with at least 60% marks (50% for SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender candidates).
• AICE JRF/SRF (PhD): a Master's degree in the related specialisation, with at least 60% marks (50% for SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender candidates).

Exam Pattern

The exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT) with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The paper duration is 120 minutes (2 hours). The medium of the exam is English. After the exam, NTA will release a provisional answer key, allow candidates to raise objections, and then publish the final answer key and result.

How to Download Your Admit Card

Follow these simple steps to download your ICAR AIEEA 2026 admit card (hall ticket):

1. Click the correct "Download Admit Card" link above - AIEEA (PG) or AICE JRF/SRF (PhD), depending on the exam you appear for.
2. Log in with your application number and date of birth (and security pin if asked).
3. Your admit card will open on the screen. Check every detail - your name, photo, roll number, exam city, centre address, date, shift and reporting time.
4. Download the admit card and take a clear printout. Keep at least two printed copies.
5. If you find any mistake in your name, photo or other details, contact NTA immediately using the helpline given below.

What to Carry to the Exam Centre

• A printed copy of your admit card (hall ticket).
• One valid original photo ID proof (for example Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport or Driving Licence).
• A recent passport-size photograph (same as the one uploaded), if the admit card asks for it.
• PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) candidates should carry their disability certificate if required.

Reach the exam centre well before the reporting time printed on your admit card. Do not carry any barred item such as a mobile phone, smart watch, calculator or study material inside the exam hall.

What Happens After the Exam

The exam was held on 04 July 2026. NTA is expected to release the provisional answer key in July 2026, followed by an objection window and then the final answer key.
