RPSC APO 2026 Overview

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has invited online applications for the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO). An APO works in the prosecution wing of the state and presents criminal cases in court on behalf of the government. This is a Rajasthan state government job meant for law graduates. In total, 371 posts are on offer under advertisement number 3/Exam/APO/EP-1/2026-27.

The online form opened on 8 June 2026 and closed on 7 July 2026, so fresh applications are no longer accepted. Candidates who have applied should now start preparing for the preliminary exam, which is fixed for 2 September 2026.

Eligibility (Education and Age)

Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a university established by law in India. The notice also asks for a working knowledge of Hindi written in the Devnagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.

Age Limit (as on 1 January 2027): The minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 40 years. Age relaxation for reserved groups such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, women and Persons with Disability (PwD) is given as per Rajasthan government rules. Application Fee

The fee for each category is shown in the Application Fee box above. The fee is paid online while filling the form, using a debit card, credit card, net banking, IMPS, cash card or a mobile wallet. If a candidate later needs to edit the submitted form, a separate correction charge applies.

Salary and Pay Scale

The pay for the Assistant Prosecution Officer post is fixed as per the Rajasthan government rules stated in the official notice. Selection Process

The RPSC APO selection has the following stages:

1. Preliminary Examination — an objective screening test held on 2 September 2026.
2. Main Examination — a written exam fixed for 27 December 2026 for candidates who clear the prelim.
3. Personality Test / Interview — a face-to-face round.
4. Document Verification — checking of the original certificates.
5. Final Merit List — prepared on the combined performance of the above stages.

The application window is closed. The steps below are shared only for your reference:

1. Log in to the Rajasthan SSO (Single Sign-On) portal with your SSO ID. New users first create a free SSO ID.
2. Open the Recruitment section and select the Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) 2026 advertisement.
3. Fill in your personal, educational and category details carefully.
4. Upload your photo and signature in the format asked for.
5. Pay the application fee online and submit the form.
6. Save and print the final confirmation page for your records.

How to Download the Admit Card

RPSC will release the preliminary exam admit card a few days before 2 September 2026. When it is out, log in to the SSO portal or reach the RPSC website through the Official Website link in the Important Links table above, open the admit card section and download it. Carry a printed admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam centre.
