DCECE-PE 2026 First Round Seat Allotment — Overview

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has published the first round seat allotment result for DCECE-PE 2026. DCECE stands for Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination. PE stands for Polytechnic Engineer, the group for admission to diploma engineering courses in government and private polytechnic colleges in Bihar.

The first round seat allotment result came out on 8 July 2026. Seats have been allotted on the basis of each candidate's rank in the exam and the choices of college and branch they locked during online counselling. Every candidate who filled and locked choices should now log in and check the result.

What is DCECE and the PE Group?

DCECE is a state-level entrance test held in Bihar every year. Through one exam, a candidate can seek admission to different diploma-level courses. The three main groups are shown below. This page covers only the PE (Polytechnic Engineer) group.

How to Check Your DCECE-PE 2026 Seat Allotment Result

1. Open the official BCECEB website from the Official Website link in the Important Links table above.
2. Find the DCECE-PE 2026 online counselling / seat allotment section, or open the first round seat allotment result link.
3. Log in to your account with your registration number and password.
4. Check your allotted college and branch on the screen.
5. Download and save the provisional allotment order. This can be downloaded from 8 July to 13 July 2026.

What the First Round Allotment Means

The seat given in the first round is a provisional allotment. When you download the allotment order, you must choose whether you want to keep this seat (retain) or try for a better college in the next round (upgradation).

If you ask for upgradation and your seat is upgraded in the second round, you take admission on the new seat. If you choose to retain, your first round seat stays with you. If you do not complete document verification within the given dates, your allotted seat is treated as cancelled and you may lose the chance for further counselling.

Reporting, Document Verification and Admission

For the first round, document verification and admission takes place from 11 July to 13 July 2026 at your Reporting / Nodal Centre. Reach the centre on time with all original documents and one set of photocopies. Carry the downloaded verification slip in two copies and the biometric form in one copy.

Documents to Bring for Verification

• Class 10 (Matric) admit card, marksheet, and certificate (as proof of date of birth).
• DCECE-2026 admit card, along with six extra passport-size photographs.
• DCECE-PE 2026 rank card.
• Printed hard copy of the online application form (confirmation page).
• Copy of Aadhaar card.
• Caste certificate, residential (domicile) certificate, and character certificate, wherever they apply.
• Reserved-category proof where claimed — for example EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificate, SMQ (soldier / military quota) certificate, or DQ (Divyang / disability quota) certificate.
• Downloaded verification slip in two copies and the biometric form in one copy.

All reserved-category candidates must submit certificates issued by the competent authority, and the category shown must be the same as claimed in the DCECE-2026 application.

Opening and Closing Ranks (Round 1)

BCECEB has published the college and branch wise opening and closing ranks for the first round. This tells you the first and last rank allotted a seat in each college and branch in this round. The seat matrix lists the total seats available in each government and private polytechnic college, branch by branch, along with the category-wise break-up. Check the seat matrix link in the Important Links table above for the exact number of seats in your preferred college and branch.

Next Round and Mop-up Counselling

If you did not get a seat in the first round, or you want a better college, wait for the second round. The second round seat allotment result will be published on 20 July 2026, with allotment order download from 20 July to 24 July 2026 and admission from 23 July to 24 July 2026. If seats still remain after the second round, BCECEB holds a mop-up / third round counselling and announces its schedule separately.

Eligibility for DCECE-PE

For the PE (Polytechnic Engineer) group, a candidate must have passed or be appearing in the Class 10 (Matric / High School) examination from a recognised board. Only candidates who meet the eligibility given in the official prospectus are considered for admission during document verification.
