Railway RRB Technician Online Form 2026

Overview

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), which handles recruitment for Indian Railways, has invited online applications for the post of Technician under advertisement number CEN 02/2026. This is a large all-India recruitment drive with 6557 vacancies on offer. The Technician posts fall under two main categories — Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 (Open Line, Workshop and Production Units) — and candidates apply for the zone and post as per their eligibility. Eligibility

Age Limit (as on 1 July 2026):

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age for Technician Grade 3: 30 years
• Maximum age for Technician Grade 1 Signal: 33 years

Age relaxation in the upper age limit is given to reserved categories (such as SC/ST, OBC and others) as per Railway rules. The exact relaxation for each category is listed in the official notification.

Educational Qualification:

• Technician Grade 1 Signal: A B.E./B.Tech (Bachelor of Engineering / Technology), an Engineering Diploma, or a B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) in Engineering in the relevant discipline.
• Technician Grade 3 (Open Line, Workshop and Production Units): Class 10th (Matriculation) pass along with an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in the relevant trade, OR Class 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Maths (PCM).

Application Fee

The application fee is paid online only, using a Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, or a Cash Card / Mobile Wallet. General, EWS and OBC candidates pay a fee of Rs. 500, while SC, ST, PH (Persons with Disabilities) candidates and all female candidates pay a reduced fee of Rs. 250. How to Apply

1. Visit the official RRB apply portal at rrbapply.gov.in.
2. Complete the one-time registration using a valid mobile number and email ID, and note down your registration number.
3. Log in and fill the online application form with your personal, educational and category details.
4. Choose your preferred RRB zone(s) and the Technician post as per your eligibility.
5. Upload a scanned photograph and signature in the format specified in the notification.
6. Pay the application fee online as per your category.
7. Submit the form and download / print a copy of the completed application for your records.

Make sure to complete all steps, including fee payment, on or before the last date of 29 July 2026.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the RRB Technician posts is done in the following stages:

• Computer Based Test (CBT) — the written examination taken on a computer.
