Overview

State Bank of India (SBI) is the country's largest public-sector bank. Every year it recruits Probationary Officers (PO) — entry-level managerial staff who, after training, work as branch officers across India. For the SBI PO recruitment 2026, SBI is filling 1,500 posts through a nationwide online examination. The online application window opened on 18 June 2026 and closes on 8 July 2026. This is an all-India recruitment, so candidates from every state can apply for the same set of posts.

Vacancy Details

Eligibility

Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree (graduation) in any stream from a recognised university in India. Those who are in the final year of their graduation may also apply, provided they can produce proof of passing if selected.

Age Limit (as on 1 April 2026): Minimum age is 21 years and maximum age is 30 years. Age relaxation for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, PwD and others) is provided as per SBI rules. Candidates should read the official notification for the exact relaxation applicable to their category.

Application Fee

Candidates from the General, OBC and EWS categories have to pay an application fee of ₹750. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) categories are exempt from the fee. The fee can be paid online using a Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, or a Cash Card / Mobile Wallet. Selection Process

The selection of SBI Probationary Officers is done in the following stages:

1. Preliminary Examination (Prelims): An online objective screening test.
2. Main Examination (Mains): Candidates who clear the prelims appear for the online main exam.
3. Group Exercise: Shortlisted candidates take part in a group activity.
4. Interview: The final personal interview, after which the merit list is prepared.

2. Click on "New Registration" and enter your basic details to create a registration ID and password.

6. Submit the completed form and download or print the confirmation page for your records.
