DSSSB Recruitment 2026 (Advt 03/2026) - Overview

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) is a government body that hires staff for many departments of the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. Through Advertisement No. 03/2026, DSSSB is filling 1979 posts in departments such as the Forensic Science Laboratory, the Directorate of Education, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), the Department of Delhi Archives, the Information Technology Department and the Labour Department.

This is a big recruitment drive covering post codes 21/26 to 45/26. The posts are a mix of Group B and Group C jobs. Some need only a 10th pass with a trade certificate, while others need a Master's degree. Online applications started on 16 June 2026 (from 12 Noon) and close on 15 July 2026 (till 11:59 PM). You can pick more than one post if you meet the qualification for each.

UR means Unreserved (General), OBC means Other Backward Classes, SC means Scheduled Caste, ST means Scheduled Tribe and EWS means Economically Weaker Section. PwBD (Person with Benchmark Disability), Ex-Serviceman and Meritorious Sports Person seats are included within the totals above, as stated in the official notice.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The required qualification is different for each post code. In simple terms:

• Junior Scientific Assistant (JSA) posts (21/26 to 31/26): A Master's (Post Graduate) degree in the related subject, for example Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Forensic Science, Psychology or Computer Science, from a recognised university.
• Technical Assistant (Hindi) and Assistant Archivist: A Master's degree in the required subject as given in the notification.
• I.T. Assistant Grade-A: A degree with the required computer/IT qualification.
• Fitter, Lift Operator, A/C Mechanic, Sub Station Apprentice (NDMC posts): A 10th pass (Matric) or Higher Secondary with the matching ITI (Industrial Training Institute) or National Trade Certificate.
• Data Processing Assistant / Data Entry Operator: A degree, or a diploma in computer engineering, with typing/computer skills.
• Trained Graduate Teacher (Computer Science / Special Education) and Special Educator (Primary): The required degree with B.Ed / Diploma in Special Education and the CTET/other teaching eligibility as stated.
• Electrical Overseer / Sub-Inspector (Labour Department): A diploma in Electrical Engineering with the required trade skills.

Age Limit

The age limit is counted as on the closing date, 15 July 2026. It changes from post to post. Most posts have a range between 18 and 27 years or up to 30 years, while some posts allow up to 37 years. The lowest is 18 years and the highest upper limit in this advertisement is 37 years. Age relaxation is given as per government rules — for example SC/ST candidates get 5 years and OBC candidates get 3 years of relaxation, plus extra relaxation for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen as per the rules in the notice.

Pay Scale

The salary depends on the post and its pay level under the 7th Pay Commission. The pay levels in this recruitment range from Level 2 to Level 7. The table below shows the pay band for each level used in this advertisement.

The final in-hand salary also depends on allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA), which the notice does not fix as a single number. So the take-home pay is not shown here to avoid a wrong figure.

Selection Process

Candidates are selected mainly through a Computer Based Test (CBT), which is an online written exam. The exam is a One Tier or Two Tier test depending on the post. It is of 2 hours and carries 200 marks with multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The subjects usually include General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Arithmetical and Numerical Ability, and questions from the post's own subject. For posts that need practical skills (like Fitter or Data Entry Operator), a Skill Test or Trade Test is also held. Final merit is based on the exam marks after normalisation.

The application is fully online. Follow these steps:

1. Go to the official DSSSB online application portal (the Apply Online link is given in the Important Links table above).
2. Register once with your basic details to get a one-time registration number and password.
3. Log in and fill the application form. Choose your post code (or codes) carefully.
4. Upload your scanned photo and signature in the required size and format.
5. Pay the application fee of Rs 100 through SBI e-Pay (women and SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Serviceman candidates are exempt).
6. Check every detail, submit the form, and save a printout for your record.

Apply well before the last date. The apply link is disabled after 11:59 PM on 15 July 2026, and the government server can be slow on the final day.
