MP CPCT 2026: Overview
The Computer Proficiency Certification Test, or CPCT, is a state-level computer skill test for Madhya Pradesh. It is run by MAP_IT (Madhya Pradesh Agency for Promotion of Information Technology) for the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSeDC), Government of Madhya Pradesh. The test checks two things: your basic computer knowledge and your typing speed in both English and Hindi.
Many Madhya Pradesh government jobs ask for a valid CPCT scorecard. If you clear CPCT once, the same scorecard can be used for those jobs. The scorecard is valid for 7 years from the exam date, so you do not need to sit for the test again and again during that time.
CPCT is held in many sessions across the year. The most recent session was held on 3, 4 and 5 July 2026. The admit card for this session was released on 1 July 2026 on the official portal. As this exam is now over, the candidate portal is in the answer-key and scorecard stage: you can check your response sheet, raise an objection during the objection window, and later download your scorecard when it is declared.
Exam Pattern
CPCT is a computer-based test (CBT). The full test runs for about 2 hours and has two parts. Part 1 checks your computer knowledge with multiple-choice questions. Part 2 checks your typing speed and accuracy in English and in Hindi. You can switch between English and Hindi during the test.
| Part | What it tests | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Section A | Computer proficiency (MCQ) | 75 multiple-choice questions. 1 mark for each right answer. No negative marking. You must score at least 50% (about 38 out of 75) to qualify this section. |
| Section B (English) | English typing skill test | Minimum speed to qualify is 30 words per minute (WPM), with good accuracy. |
| Section B (Hindi) | Hindi typing skill test | Minimum speed to qualify is 20 words per minute (WPM), with good accuracy. |
Your scorecard does not show a rank. It shows a "Qualified" or "Not Qualified" status, your MCQ score, and your typing speed (WPM) and accuracy for English and Hindi. There is no limit on attempts, so you may sit for CPCT in any future session to improve your score.
