UPSSSC Havildar Instructor Recruitment 2026 — Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission, known as UPSSSC, has released a recruitment notice for the post of Havildar Instructor in the Home Guard Department of Uttar Pradesh. This is a main-stage recruitment, which means only candidates who already have a valid UPSSSC PET 2025 (Preliminary Eligibility Test) scorecard can apply. In total, 209 posts are on offer under Advertisement Number 11-Exam/2026.

Post and Vacancy Details

All 209 vacancies are for a single post, Havildar Instructor. The commission may split these posts across categories such as General, OBC (Other Backward Classes), SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe) and EWS (Economically Weaker Section) in the official notification. Always check the reservation table in the notice for your exact category count.

Eligibility — Are You Allowed to Apply?

You must meet both the education rule and the PET rule.

• Education: You must have passed Class 12th (Intermediate) from a board recognised by the Uttar Pradesh Government or an equal board. Unpaid departmental Home Guard staff may apply with a Class 10th (High School) pass.
• PET 2025 scorecard: You must have a valid UPSSSC PET 2025 scorecard. If you did not appear in PET 2025 or your scorecard is not valid, you cannot apply.

Age Limit

Your age is counted as on 1 July 2026.

Candidates from reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC and other groups) get extra age relaxation as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules. Check the notification for the exact relaxation that applies to you.

Salary — Pay Level-3

The Havildar Instructor post carries Pay Level-3 under the 7th Pay Commission. The pay band runs from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 per month. On top of the basic pay, you will receive allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other benefits as decided by the state government from time to time. The notice states the pay level only, so for the exact starting pay in your posting, refer to the official notification.

Selection Process

The commission will pick candidates in stages. The steps below are based on the recruitment notice.

1. Shortlisting on PET 2025 score: Candidates are first shortlisted using their PET 2025 marks.
2. Main Written Examination: Shortlisted candidates sit the main written exam.
3. Physical Measurement Test / Physical Standard Test (PMT/PST): Your height, chest and physical standards are checked.
4. Document Verification (DV): Your original certificates are verified at the final stage.

How to Apply Online

Apply only through the official UPSSSC website using your PET 2025 login. Follow these steps:

1. Complete or update your UPSSSC One Time Registration (OTR) if you have not done it already.
2. Open the "Apply Online / All Notifications" section on the UPSSSC website (link given in the Important Links table above).
3. Select "Havildar Instructor Recruitment 2026 (Advt. No. 11-Exam/2026)".
4. Log in with your PET 2025 registration number and password/OTP.
5. Fill in your details, upload your photo and signature, and pay the ₹25 fee online using debit card, credit card, net banking, IMPS or a mobile wallet.
6. Submit the form and save a printout for your records. If you need changes, use the correction window before 16 July 2026.
