Eligibility (Qualification)
To apply, you must have both of the following:
- A Bachelor's degree (graduation) in any subject from a recognised university.
- A valid UPSSSC PET 2025 (Preliminary Eligibility Test) score card. Without a PET 2025 score, you cannot apply.
Extra weight is given for certain service backgrounds, such as service in the Territorial Army, an NCC (National Cadet Corps) 'B' Certificate, or service as a Home Guard, as stated in the official notice.
Age Limit
The age is counted as on 1 July 2026. The minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 40 years for the General category. Candidates from reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST, PwD and others) get age relaxation in the upper age limit as per Uttar Pradesh government rules.

Selection Process
Candidates are selected in these steps:
- Shortlisting by PET 2025 score — candidates are shortlisted using their normalised UPSSSC PET 2025 marks.
- Main Written Examination — an objective (multiple choice) paper. There is negative marking, so wrong answers cut marks.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — height, chest and running/physical tests, which are qualifying in nature.
- Document Verification and Medical Test — your certificates and fitness are checked before final selection.
