BSUSC Bihar Assistant Professor 2026 Overview
The Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC), Patna, has invited online applications for 3,687 Assistant Professor posts on a contract basis. These teachers will be posted in state universities of Bihar, including 211 newly opened Government Degree Colleges (Rajkiya Degree Colleges). The recruitment is run by the Higher Education Department (HED), Government of Bihar, through the SAMARTH portal.

Eligibility (Age and Qualification)
Age limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 43 years, counted as on 1 August 2026. Age relaxation for reserved categories is given as per Bihar Government rules.
Educational qualification: You must hold a Master's degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade). Candidates from SC, ST, BC (Non-Creamy Layer), EBC (Non-Creamy Layer) of Bihar and Persons with Disability (PwD) of Bihar get a 5% relaxation, so they need 50% marks. In addition, you must have qualified UGC NET / CSIR NET / Bihar SET (State Eligibility Test), OR hold a PhD awarded as per UGC Regulations.
Salary (Remuneration)
This is a contract post, not a permanent government job. The monthly remuneration is fixed by the Higher Education Department, Government of Bihar. As per the notification, it is equal to the minimum monthly gross salary (Basic Pay + Dearness Allowance only) of a regularly appointed Assistant Professor at the entry level, which falls in Pay Level 10 of the 7th Pay Commission.
