UPHESC Assistant Professor Interview Letter 2026 Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), earlier known as UPHESC (Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission), has released the interview letter for the Assistant Professor recruitment under Advertisement No. 51/2022. This recruitment is for 981 Assistant Professor posts in government-aided degree colleges across Uttar Pradesh. The written exam was held on 18 and 19 April 2026. After the result came out on 9 June 2026, shortlisted candidates are now being called for the interview round.

Candidates who cleared the written exam can log in to the official portal, upload their required documents, and then download their interview call letter. The interview is the final stage before the merit list. You must carry the printed interview letter and all original documents on your interview day.

The recruitment covers many teaching subjects under a single advertisement. The total number of posts is given below.

The posts are spread across various subjects such as Hindi, English, History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Commerce and more. The subject-wise interview schedule is given in the official interview schedule notice.

Eligibility (Qualification and Age)

To apply for these posts, a candidate needed a Master's degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (with the usual relaxation for reserved categories) from a recognised university. Candidates also needed to qualify NET (National Eligibility Test) or SET/SLET (State Eligibility Test / State Level Eligibility Test), unless exempted under the rules. The maximum age was 62 years, with age relaxation as per Uttar Pradesh government rules. Since this is now the interview stage, only candidates who already qualified the written exam are eligible to download the interview letter.

Selection Process

The selection is done in three simple stages:

1. Written Examination — held on 18 and 19 April 2026.
2. Interview — being held from 21 July 2026 to 13 August 2026 for shortlisted candidates.
3. Final Merit List — prepared on the combined score of the written exam and the interview.

1. Open the interview letter login link given in the Important Links table above.
2. Log in with your registered enrollment number or user ID and password.
3. First upload the required original documents online (this must be done before the letter is released — usually at least 21 days before your interview date).
4. Once your documents are accepted, open the "Interview Letter / Call Letter" section.
5. Check your interview date, time, venue and subject, then download the letter.
6. Take a clear printout on A4 paper and keep it safely for your interview day.

• Printed interview call letter.
• All mark sheets and degree certificates (10th, 12th, graduation, post-graduation).
• NET / SET / SLET qualification certificate (if you qualified through it).
• Category / caste certificate, if you belong to a reserved category.
• A valid photo ID proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, or driving licence.
• Recent passport-size photographs.
