UP D.El.Ed 2026 Admission Overview

The Examination Regulatory Authority (ERA), Uttar Pradesh — also known as the Pariksha Niyamak Pradhikari, Prayagraj — has invited online applications for admission to the D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) course for the 2026-27 session. This course was earlier known as BTC (Basic Training Certificate). It is a full-time 2-year teacher training course. You must complete it to become a primary school teacher in Uttar Pradesh. Admission is done in government District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs), CTE Varanasi, and private D.El.Ed colleges that are recognised by the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education).

Candidates who are eligible should apply online during the registration window. The registration started on 15 June 2026 and the last date to register is 08 July 2026. There is no written entrance test — seats are given purely on merit and then filled through online counselling.

Educational Qualification

• You must have a Bachelor's degree (graduation) in any stream from a recognised university.
• General, OBC and EWS candidates need at least 50% marks in graduation.
• SC and ST candidates need at least 45% marks in graduation.
• You should also have passed High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12).

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026)

• Minimum age: 18 years.
• Maximum age: 35 years.
• Upper age relaxation is given to reserved categories as per Uttar Pradesh government rules.

Selection Process

UP D.El.Ed 2026 admission is fully merit-based. There is no entrance exam. A merit score (called the "quotient") is worked out from the marks you got in High School, Intermediate and graduation. A state-wise rank card / merit list is then prepared. Based on your rank, you take part in online counselling — you fill your college choices, a seat is allotted, and you report to the allotted college with your original documents. Keep checking the official portal for the counselling schedule after the registration window closes.

Documents Needed

Keep these ready in scanned form while filling the online form, and carry the originals during document verification at counselling:

• High School (Class 10) marksheet and certificate
• Intermediate (Class 12) marksheet and certificate
• Graduation marksheet and degree certificate
• Caste / category certificate (for reserved categories)
• Domicile (residence) certificate of Uttar Pradesh
• Recent passport-size photograph and signature
• A valid photo ID (Aadhaar / voter ID / PAN)

Total Seats

The total number of D.El.Ed seats is decided by the number of government DIETs and NCTE-recognised private colleges that take part in the 2026-27 session. The exact seat count is not fixed in the registration notice. Please refer to the official notification and the counselling / seat matrix on the official portal for the confirmed number of seats.

How to Apply Online

1. Open the official U.P. D.El.Ed registration page (link given in the Important Links table above).
2. Fill in the new registration form with your personal, academic and category details.
3. Upload your scanned photo, signature and required documents in the correct size.
4. Pay the application fee online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, IMPS or a mobile wallet before 09 July 2026.
5. Submit the form and take a printout of the final application before 11 July 2026 for your records.

Note: complete the registration by 08 July 2026 — the fee-payment and printout dates come right after, so do not leave it to the last day.
