NBEMS Group A, B, C Recruitment 2026 - Overview

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, or NBEMS, has released a direct recruitment notice for 53 posts across Group A, Group B and Group C. NBEMS is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The advertisement number is A-12011/3/2025-Estb. The online application window is open from 29 June 2026 to 20 July 2026. Both men and women who are Indian citizens can apply if they meet the post-wise conditions below.

This is a good chance for candidates from 12th pass level up to postgraduate medical level. The posts include clerical, stenography, accounts, computer and senior medical roles. The written examination is planned for 5 and 6 September 2026.

Note: The Junior Assistant total of 39 posts includes one backlog vacancy of the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. Three posts in all are set aside for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD). The number of vacancies may go up, come down, or be withdrawn without prior notice.

Upper age relaxation is allowed as per Government of India rules: 5 years for SC/ST (Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe), 3 years for OBC (Other Backward Classes), and 10 to 15 years for PwBD candidates. Ex-servicemen and eligible women also get relaxation as stated in the official notice.

Pay Scale / Salary

Salary is paid as per the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix Level of each post. The pay level for each post is shown below. The actual monthly pay also includes Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a written examination followed by a skill test where needed, then document verification and a medical fitness check.

  • For Deputy Director (Medical) and Junior Programmer, the exam scheme and syllabus will be put up on the NBEMS website shortly.
  • For Junior Accountant, Stenographer and Junior Assistant, there is a written paper. Junior Accountant is at graduate level; Stenographer and Junior Assistant are at 10+2 level.
  • Stenographer candidates must also qualify a General English, shorthand and typewriting test conducted by the Board.
  • Shortlisted candidates (five per vacancy in each category) go to the skill test / computer test stage.
  • There is no interview for Group B and Group C posts.

How to Apply

You must apply online only, through the official NBEMS website. No offline or postal application is accepted. Follow these steps.

  1. Open the official NBEMS website and click on the "Vacancy" link (use the Apply Online link in the Important Links table above).
  2. Read the full notification once so you are sure about your eligibility, age and post.
  3. Fill the Registration Form with your basic details. Your Login ID and Password are sent to your registered mobile number.
  4. Log in and complete the Application Form with your personal, age and education details.
  5. Upload a recent colour photograph (below 80 KB) and your signature (below 50 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
  6. Pay the application fee online, then submit the form and take a printout for your records.

The fee can be paid by Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI. Once paid, the fee is not refunded. Keep your email and mobile number active until the result is declared, because NBEMS sends all updates there. Always cross-check the official notice for the final word before you apply.

Important Note on Documents

You will need to show your original certificates and category proof at the document verification stage. If you fail to produce them, or if any detail on your form is found false, your candidature will be cancelled even after the exam.
