NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Answer Key: Overview

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the answer key for the NEET UG 2026 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate) re-examination. The re-exam was held on 21 June 2026, and the answer key came out on 25 June 2026. NEET UG is the single entrance test for admission to MBBS, BDS and other medical and dental courses across India. With the answer key now out, candidates can match their answers and get a fair idea of their expected score before the result is declared.

Why a Re-Exam Was Held

The original NEET UG 2026 examination was scheduled for 3 May 2026. That exam was later cancelled by the authorities. To give every candidate a fair chance, NTA conducted a fresh re-examination on 21 June 2026. The score from this 21 June re-exam is the one that counts for the NEET UG 2026 result and later counselling. The admit card for the re-exam was issued on 14 June 2026, and the exam city details were shared on 7 June 2026.

Eligibility in Short

To appear for NEET UG 2026, a candidate must have passed, or be appearing in, class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology from a recognised board. The minimum age is 17 years, and the candidate must have been born on or before 31 December 2009. There is no upper age limit set for the exam.

How to Download the NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Answer Key

1. Open the official answer key login link given in the Important Links table above.
2. Enter your NEET UG 2026 application number and password or date of birth.
3. Type the security code (captcha) shown on the screen and submit.
4. Your recorded responses and the answer key will appear on the screen.
5. Match your answers with the correct answers to estimate your score.
6. Download and save the answer key and your response sheet for future reference.

How to Challenge the Answer Key

NTA usually gives candidates a short window to challenge any answer they feel is wrong. To raise an objection, a candidate logs in on the same official portal and submits the challenge, normally by paying a set fee for each question challenged. This fee is refunded if the challenge is found correct. The exact objection dates and fee for NEET UG 2026 were not announced at the time of writing, so please check the official website link above for the latest update.

What Happens After the Answer Key

After the objection window closes, NTA reviews all valid challenges and prepares the final answer key. The NEET UG 2026 result is then made on the basis of this final answer key. As per the current schedule, the result is expected in July 2026. Once the result and rank are out, qualified candidates take part in counselling - the All India Quota seats are handled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), while state quota seats are filled through the respective state counselling authorities.

How to Estimate Your Score

NEET uses a simple marking pattern. For each correct answer you gain marks, and for each wrong answer some marks are deducted, while unattempted questions get zero. Count your correct and wrong answers using the answer key, then apply the marking scheme printed on your question paper to work out your likely total. Remember, this is only an estimate - your official marks will be confirmed in the result.
