Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU), Prayagraj has released the admission notification for its B.Ed and B.Ed (Special Education) programmes for the 2026-27 session. Admission is through a common entrance test, and candidates must register and submit the online application form on the official UPRTOU entrance portal within the given dates.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, a candidate must have completed a teacher-education programme recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in the traditional face-to-face mode - such as D.El.Ed/B.T.C., B.El.Ed, B.Ed, M.Ed, D.P.Ed, B.P.Ed or an integrated B.A.B.Ed/B.Sc.B.Ed course - or must be a trained teacher currently working in an elementary or primary school.
In addition, the candidate must hold one of the following academic qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree (or an equivalent qualification) in Science, Social Science, Humanities, Agriculture or Commerce with at least 50% marks; or
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Technology with a specialisation in Science and Mathematics with at least 55% marks.
For the B.Ed programme, the graduation must also include two of the prescribed teaching subjects (Hindi, English, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Mathematics, Home Science, History, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Economics or Commerce), or one such subject at graduation level and one at the intermediate level.
Reserved-category candidates domiciled in Uttar Pradesh (SC, ST, OBC, EWS and other special categories) receive reservation and a relaxation in the qualifying marks as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules. Candidates applying for B.Ed (Special Education) should confirm the exact eligibility in the separate B.Ed (SE) information brochure.
